Spaghetti bolognaise
Ingredients
500g beef mince
1 onion - diced
1 red pepper - diced
1 large garlic clove - crushed
200g mushrooms - sliced
1 can tomatoes
1 tablespoon tomato puree
200ml red wine
1tsp mixed herbs
1 beef stock pot / cube / 1 tbsp novel
Method:
1. Gently ry the onion and red pepper for 5 mins
2. Add the mushroom and garlic and fry for 5 more mins
3. Increase the heat and add the beef mince. Cook until browned
4. Add the mixed herbs and tomato purée. Cook for 1 minutes
5. Add the red wine and reduce by half
6. Add the tomatoes and beef stock. Bring to the boil and then simmer covered for at least 30 mins. Ideally 1hr+.
