Chocolate orange snaps (used for christmas tree cookie cutters)

Need to double batch for full tree. 

190g plain flour
1/4 tsp salt
40g cocoa
1 tsp baking powder
110g brown sugar
110g butter at RT
1 egg at RT
1.5tsp orange zest

Icing (optional )
1 cup icing sugar, 1-2tsp milk

  1. Preheat oven 180C (160 fan)
  2. Whisk tog flour, salt, cocoa, baking powder
  3. Cream tog sugar and butter 3-4 mins until light
  4. add orange zest and egg and mix 1 min more
  5. Add dry ingredients until dough comes tog
  6. Shape into flat disk, roll out to 0.25" thick, cut out
  7. Bake 10 mins (soft) or 12 (crispy)
